Every mainstream sports brand you can think of, uses polyester. It's a petroleum-derived plastic that sheds microplastics and endocrine-disrupting chemicals directly onto skin when wearing and moving in these clothes.

Labels That Deceive
"Made with organic cotton" legally still permits polyester in the blend. Even GOTS-certified garments can contain up to 20% recycled polyester. Svante's certification is applied without this exception. Zero polyester means zero.

MEET THE FOUNDER
We're parents first.
Svante didn't start in a boardroom. It started in our kitchen. Like most parents, we bought our kids activewear without questioning it.
Bright colours. Stretchy fabrics.
Then one day we looked more closely. 100% polyester. Petroleum-based plastic.
Plastic. The clothing designed to sit against our children's skin while they moved, sweated and played. We asked a simple question: Why is every kids sports brand using plastic?
The answer was uncomfortable. It's cheap, easy to mass produce, and the big brands simply don't care about our children.
So after three years in development we created it.
Plant-based fabrics, certified materials, no synthetic plastics, no shortcuts.

Before you go, a few things parents always ask.
Young skin is developing. When kids get warm, or active their pores open. During movement and sweat, polyester fabrics shed microplastics and release the chemical finishes used in manufacturing. The plastic and chemicals leach directly onto your child's skin, this can cause hormone disruption and skin conditions. The activewear materials they wear matters more than almost any other clothing decision you make.
Polyester is cheap, easy to manufacture at scale, and accepted as the industry default. There's no legal requirement to disclose chemical treatments on synthetic fabrics, so brands have no commercial reason to change. Svante was created because we were unwilling to accept that we must compromise our children's health for style and performance. It took three years to source the right fabrics and to find ethical factories that were willing to work with natural materials and provide the right certifications.
